Twenty of our Year 10 BTEC Music & Drama students had a back stage tour of the Neighbourhood Weekender festival site the day before the gates opened to the public. The students had a guided tour of all the areas, the main stage, surrounding stages, VIP area, Headliner backstage spaces etc – they even saw where George Ezra would wait and rest before he goes on to perform! This was very exciting. The students had a real insight into what putting on a music festival involves backstage. The visit links extremely well with the Music Industry Unit in BTEC Music as well as a preparing for creating their own music products next year. They also heard how valuable volunteering is for building up experience and employability in the entertainment industry. This was a valuable experience for our students and we thank the festival team for accommodating us!
