We had a guest speaker during our assembly for Years 7 and 8 today.
Emily Rose Chriscoli has recently released her first mystery novel, The Girl in the Mustard Coat. Emily is from Warrington and what she has gone on to achieve already in her young years is nothing short of amazing. She started her school life at Cardinal Newman High School and went on to further education at Priestley College. From here she went to Edge Hill University.
Emily spoke about the fact that she was inspired to write by her teachers whilst at school herself and her writing has gone from strength to strength.
We hope that our students were inspired by what Emily told them today. If they have a dream, they can achieve it with hard work. We know from the information passed on to us by the primary schools that we have a lot of budding writers in the midst amongst our Year 7 so hopefully this has inspired them to pick up a pen and write.
