The afternoon of Friday the 27th September drew a close to our official Open Week, and what a week. If you didn’t get chance to visit us: please don’t worry. Our doors are always open; please just call the school to arrange your tour, where you can see the school in action during a school day.
Our Open Evening took place on Wednesday 25th. The school was booming with a record number of visitors, and this year there was an extra special experience on offer. Wire FM were present with a pop-up studio in the school’s English department. Students would write an advertising script then record it in the studio with the experts! The addition was very well received, as were all the other activities available across the school which involved interactive maths quizzes, a historical crime scene, cake decorating, links to the world, sugar skull creations and numerous firey experiments in Science. Every single department had something on offer, and our student ambassadors were tour guides for visiting families. Our Parent Supporting Boteler group served refreshments in the canteen, and the Headteacher’s Welcome saw the school hall at full capacity as visitors learnt about the vision and values of the school from the Headteacher. During the Welcome, visitors also heard the positive views of a former student.
Some of the parent/carer comments included:
“The whole evening was a huge eye opener for me as a parent. The school has an amazing atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly”.
“Very impressed with the Headteacher’s passion and her desire to know and help every child.”
“What did I enjoy the most? The warmth and personal feeling of the school, the friendly staff, the happy students, the art and music rooms, the hands-on approach to learning.”
“My tour guide was polite and informative. Answered me honestly and was really positive about the school. Lovely school, really impressed!”
“Excellent – cannot wait to join you”.
ThanK you to everyone who visited us, and we hope to see you again soon.
